ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla., Oct. 30 – SKYiGOLF, which announced its company launch Oct. 30 at the World Golf Hall of Fame, is honored to forge a partnership with the Folds of Honor to help provide scholarships to the children and spouses of fallen and wounded service members.
SKYiGOLF, which supports PGA Professionals and course owners with support and services to better their business and also is making golf more fun for everyday golfers, has pledged a portion from each round of golf played at SKYiGOLF’s nationwide network of facilities to the Folds of Honor to help meet the scholarship needs of American service families.
The Folds of Honor was started by Major Dan Rooney, an Air Force National Guard fighter pilot and a PGA member. It is a 501(C)(3) that provides educational scholarships for private education tuition and tutoring for children in grades K-12, as well as higher education tuition assistance for spouses and dependents. Nearly 20,000 scholarships have been awarded since FOH was founded in 2007. The Folds’ motto: Honor their sacrifice. Educate their legacy.
“We at SKYiGOLF feel a calling, and are blessed to be able to be part of the American community in a significant way by supporting the mission of the Folds of Honor,” said Rich Smith, SKYiGOLF’s Founder/CEO and a PGA member, who announced the partnership at the SKYiGOLF launch. “The Folds of Honor is changing lives. We want to do whatever we can to help.”
On Nov. 10, at Charlotte Harbor National, Smith will present a check to the Folds of Honor for $55,000, which will fund 11 scholarships.
